Rawyzf said:Thanks....I am really liking the color. I am trying to decide if I should get aftermarket rims and then put the stock tires on them. Then I would put blizzacks on the stock rims.
Or...I might just get some blizzacks and swap them back and forth.
I didn't like the stock rims at first, but they are starting to grow on me and I kinda like them now.
I think my first mods will be the shark fin and a CAI or SRI. Probably the Mazdaspeed CAI as they really can't blame any warranty work on it then.
chowhoundMSP said:Yeah ive been tossing around a ton of ideas about how to work out the winter tire situation.
I think ive settled on using the stock wheels for winter and taking the stock potenza and wrapping them around some really nice 18" for summer use.
What im looking for currently is a nice, lighter 18 with the same finish as the 03.5 RH's (i miss those wheels way too much!)

crossbow said:If you want to save money...snag some stock 17x7 wheels from the standard Mazda 6. They fit fine and work great as winter rims.
You might also be able to fit some 16's, if you run a spacer in the front. Never tried it, nor have I seen anyone try it yet.

(white is the best color IMO)
chowhoundMSP said:I was looking into that but most people want too much for stock rims. For the price they are asking you could just order a cheap 17 from tirerack and it would probably lighter and nicer looking.
If i could find stockers locally it would be a different story.
chowhoundMSP said:I just ordered my new summer wheels!!!!
got a set of 18's, but im saving about 4-5lbs per corner. pics to come probably this coming weekend.
Ive decided to use my stockers for my winter setup, but instead of going for 215-45-18 blizzaks at $200 a piece, im going to wrap em in some good all seasons for about 120 a piece.
so total i will be out the hole about 1300-1400 but ill get a nice set of summers out of it, and some decent winters. I dont think thats too bad.
chowhoundMSP said:Im not going show what i got yet, until they are on and i have some pics.
but i will say i was able to find a finish very similar to the 03.5 rh's, so they should have that stealthy look.
