I stopped by the shop yesterday before heading up to IREV. Met up with KzA. Figured I would share some pics of what Perf has been up to.
Engine Bay shots, notice how much room is still left.

The shop is extremely impressive. I counted at least 4 Viper v-10 blocks. Met Nick, and his partner Nick. Both very kewl, and willing to talk about turbo setups for my automatic.

i think joe (KZA) took some pics too. i would like to see how they came out. hopefully they will post them here. thanks for the comments micah. i just got off the phone with nick. we will be working out the pricing today and post a thread with the kit pricing tomorow.

I want to make a note here about the kits. They will be a LITTLE different then what i have setup. I went with a very large turbo setup for the power gains im expecting.
The kits will come with a t-3 super 60 .48 a/r ratio. depending on the customer needs the configuration can be changed to whatever trim needed for no additional charge.
You will have a choice of internal waste gate and external. We will have cast manifolds that will be included in the kit. If some one wants a tubular manifold they can be made for additional charge. I dont like tubulars for the street and dont want the headache of leaking seams in the future. Everything i make and sell will be reliable. I dont like come backs so we are doing everything possible to make this the most functional unit out there
The piping will come in any color they wish if they would like to mimick the cars color we can make them that way. Note also that there is no need for cutting ANY of the frame to mount and run piping. We will use all the stock accesories including the power steering lines used to cool the system. The intercooler being used is a custom unit JUST for the protege we designed to fit in the front mount setup. It is a bar and plate design that has minimal pressure loss thru the system. We keep the car COMPLETELY stock. there are just some minor relocations like the coolant res.
I beleive in function and reliability not flash.
If anyone is interested in a system just let me know via email or thru posting in the forum . I will be more than happy to help accomodate everyone

we are going to get him at the 200 wheel horsepower mark.

Damn, thats good news. I'm just worried about the turbo ******* up six months down the road. I'm not too informed about turbos, but I've heard some things. And what is the cost?

Most turbo kits run around 3 grand and up. Depending on what you want. Then you need to install it.

As far as people's turbo's ******* up - you are taking the stock setup and altering it. You will need to start running your car on Premium Gas, and also keep a tight eye on maintanence.

You should PM Perf and take the drive to the shop.

Well said micah.
Thanks.
The kit (markspark) will depend on your needs and expectations from your vehicle. Driving habits play a role in any maintenance catagory. If you drive sane and dont nuetral drop or the any of the sort. you'll be fine. The auto kit will come with a little smaller trim turbine so as to promote healthy torque curves for the tranny to proccess. One concideration for your vehicle might be to add an oil cooler for the trans along with the turbo system. There are many things that can be done for safety and durability. We can tailor any setup to your specific needs. Just PM me and i can give you my number and shop address. Btw the price is around 3000 for the kit +labor for the install. This price is not set in stone yet but a close assumption depending on what i work out with the individual.

I'm going to help Perf setup a website - with the spare time that none of us have.

Hey KzA - nice job on your post. Made mine look downright lazy.

Is this a setup we can install ourselves, or do we need to have someone proffesionally install it. Because at $3000, its the best priced kit on the market.

Zoom - that depends on how good you are with this kinda stuff. Weds perf and i fabbed and installed the entire kit with the exception of the manifold and the actual turbo...and we finally turned her over around midnight or so. So w/ the both of us we banged it out in a day. Most of that time was spent arguing on how to cut and position things, and cutting it. :-P If the pipes were pre made, we would have been done by dinner or so. Note that time does not include wiring in gauges or running oil lines.

Well now that you have fitment issues all sorted out, it shouldn't be a big deal for me and a friend to bang it out in a weekend should it? I mean, are you going to sell it as a "kit" or as a "fab it yourself" but we give you most of the parts thing?

I def think that perf is going for the kit setup. Yeah, you and a knowledgable friend, a weekend, and a wrench should get the job done.

and if you think that is impressive, you should see Kooldino drag himself across pavement using only a socket wrench.

looking forward to seeing some good things coming from perfworks. IS the kit on an auto now? I agree with the above post as well, 3K is a great price with an intercooler. At that price, the kit installed would be about as many on their own. get that site up!

PERF, are you gonna be selling this as a kit or can you part out different pieces, be it the interco0Ler, the manifold, turbo, etc. 3000k is a damn good price but some people might want to buy certain things from you and piece out the rest.... i know i pieced mine out together and it was about 3000-3500, then i got ripped on the interco0Ler piping so it was about 4100, about there...
