popping noise question?

Could a worn out side motor mount make a popping noise when my car goes over small bumps?

where's the noise coming from? the motor mount would make noise more when you're accelerating. Noise going over bumps tells me it's something in the suspension.

Do you have any suspension mods?

this sounds like everyone elses problem including mine, apparently it is the front endlinks. I haven't changed mine out yet, but I need to. My car sounds like some 80's peice of Sh#* rattling over small bumps. I have also noticed that now with the colder weather that my rear sway bar bushings are making more noise. time to relube.

Stock struts and Eibach Prokit. It's coming from the front passenger side. I have had it in the shop and they couldn't figure it out. It sounds like popping, sometimes creeking, and sort of grinding at other times

I had poping and radling sound from the front and it turned out to be the endlinks from the swaybar. You could check by taking off your wheel and moving the endlink around. If you feel anyting loose at the connecting ends then it is the endlinks. Thats how I found out, and after I replaced them with adjustable ones the sound disapeared and hasent returned.

yeah me too, i hear a rlly loud popping noise coming from the front, when i'm turning or stopping or taking off.... but i think i kno whats causing it .... just recently i installed GT Spec Front Lower Tie Brace n b4 that i never heard popping noise, so i'm gonna have to check it out

HI sorry For posting in this old thread But I'm having the same problem. I have replaced the Sway bar endlinks.(which solved some annoying rattling noise problem),. I did replace the Strut mount and strut bearing yesterday. Have driven car without sway bar endlinks. so sway bar bushing is out of question too.

What else could be causing this popping noise coming from the front, when i'm turning or stopping or taking off. Its coming from Passenger side.

Was any one able to find out? Please do reply to the posts after you have solved your problems.

and please note that Had replaced the Lower control arm this winter.

Its a 2003 Protege Lx 4 door 2.0 L Auto Transmission

CAN YOU Swap both the Front struts Just to diagnose the Sound If i dont want to attach the sway bar endlinks?

SOLVED...!

Unscrewed the whole passenger side suspension after coming from work @8.30 pm.

Took out the ball joint pin from knuckle and tried to move lower the control arm up and down and noticed the sound from the contact that has vertical screw. so unscrewed the control arm and took it out hoping to see worn out bushing but no. It was all right but was all dry and rusty where the screw goes into the control arm. Filled it with grease and screwed back everything and it runs so quiet like new.... no unwanted sound. I'm very happy.

Did notice broken front center mount though earlier when i was looking for some visible damage. Will change it sometime later.

Thought I should share it all. Could be of some help to someone in future.
