please help a newbie with stereo removal

so i am trying to remove the stock stereo from my p5 and i have 4 din removal tools. i originally tried using coat hanger pieces but i think that i f'd up some of the tabs in the DIN holes. whatever i did, i can't remove the darn stereo, it wont budge! :mad:

so i tried removing the plastic surrounding the stereo to get access somehow, but thats not doing the job. anyone have any suggestions? its quite frustrating.

yah... what the puerto rican guy said that or ask nuke (Sir Nuke here on the boards) and he has all the info bout removin the head unit you could need

well first off I moved this to the most appropriate section...the CAR AUDIO section....

that site give above will give you some good pics of how things should look....

you do NOT need to take the trim piece that goes around the headunit/ac controls.....its NOT necessary.....

it sounds as though it would help a LOT if you could access and/or see the sides of your unit while trying to remove it.....

ive been to this site before. its great!

however, it doesnt show how to remove the stereo in detail.
SirNuke gave me a good link, but it doenst have the details on how to fashion coat hanger tools once the gloe box is removed.
