True Joe, What do you think of these?

They also sell yours.....

Read above :). The ceramic ball is a nice upgrade for his style controller due to the size of the ball is uses. If you read my main page on my site, I think I mention using a small, lightweight ball from the start for a reason (or somehting like that :) )..

yup
"it was the first MBC to offer a dual ball design, the first MBC to utilize a lightweight ball and spring design- both of which resulted in very precise boost adjustment and it was also the first MBC to offer overboost protection."

So I am to understand the ball inside is very important to the design and adjustment of the MBC....? and this person HAS to use the ceramic because of the weight issue and your MBC has a special lightweight metal ball and specially wound (better than Hallmans) springs.....? This lighter spring and lighter metal ball together make a better MBC than these copied billet made MBC's.

am I understanding this correctly? Basically you have lighter springs and balls than Hallmans.;)

Kind of... Hallmans MBC's are very good and have been around a lot longer than mine. The problems he had were no overboost protection (actually, if you lost the adjusting screw from an early hallman, the car would run max wastegate pressure!!) and the ball was too heavy for low boost applications. Knowing the problems/complaints I had heard/read about the early hallman controllers, I kept all that in mind when designing mine. Not that his controller was no good, it is still a very good controller and has been updated over the years, but anything can be improved upon and if you know the faults, it is a good idea to address them with your product if you are going to be a competing manufacturer :D .. His billet MBC's are very nice units. They will not create more power or better control than his other MBC's or mine, but they look good and are very well engineered. I am actually supposed to be setting up to be a dealer for his new controller (the pro series billet one), but I have been lazy about it because of all the other crap I have going on right now..

JFYI, I did this not for sale or anything like that, it was just a little experiment.

I know, it wasn't you I was talking about when I mentioned people copying :).. Hell, if it was on the net already, I can't blame you for trying it out :). Just pisses me off that so many people just buy one from me, take it apart and make their own to sell on Ebay or something and think they are experts. They have no clue how it works or what will improve/worsen the design. If a customer emails with a concern about it not workingh right, they have no idea why, etc.. They didn't do any R&D so how can anyone expect them to know what they are talking about? :)
