i got a pillar mount for my boost gauge, but i dont like it much and i think it draws too much attention..

i saw a few times that some ( or atleast it exists) have a gauge mount on the sterring wheel column...

anybody got an idea where to get those? i need a link to one..

Finding a protege specific steering wheel guage mount would be quite a task. They were a one-time production item back in the day from AutoMeter / Protege5online.com and are a very difficult item to get ahold of. Im sure theres Dual & Triple din guage pods floating around the forums....

why not look into a radio bezel?

hmmm intresting idea.. you put this instead of the head unit and put the head unit on the lower part.. i bet you can do it without moving the HU right?

where do i get such a great idea?

if it doesnt come with any holes already i'd make my own hole with a hole saw..

I got mine from member "Horse" a couple years ago, he only made a couple for a school engineering project, but they do make universal ones that you can pick up a couple of ways, usually with the holes already there. I moved my radio down so the gauges were just a little closer to eye level, I know it is only a matter of like three inches but I feel better about it and like the gauges above the radio. "Rogue" and "Prodigy" got one similar to mine but it holds three gauges and just a little different style. I would google search "single din gauge radio bezel", something along those lines.

Velocifero gave me a link to 2 diffrent ones but anybody know if the miata ones from thompson-automotive work on a msp??

as long as they are a single din style they shoud work just fine, basically it is just saying anything single din would fit in the same spot a radio or dash pocket would fit.

citizenpro, i think we have the same one, see picture above a couple posts^^^^^^

I made mine from some ABS plastic I got for like $3 at a local plastic store. Then I had one of those drill holes and this is what it looks like. It's a little off, but I've got more plastic leftover but I'm just lazy to fix it.

I have a different one. There angled out more toward the driver.

Only thing about the radio bezel one I didnt like was I had to look down to see it and my eyes were off the road more. I switched to the pilar one after that.

Yea, i feel ya. Mine was meant to sit below the radio, but i wanted it up higher.....so i modified it a bit to sit on top. The angle isnt bad at all...
