Philly AutoX results

What the hell, how does a Toyota Tundra beat a firebird and an Impala? And good job at spankin them honda boys ass. Good to see them in last place, hell the cavi even beat them.

Oh wait, was this in the snow still? Then I could see a 4wd Tundra being able to beat the firebird and Impala. My autox doesn't start till April 6th. Wish i started this month though. Good luck man.

Autox: 90% driver, 10% car ;)

Well that's true, but not for a truck. I'd have to see it to believe it. Especuallya tundra. It's a full size truck. Sits high, of course you could be right about the drivers, it could have been some awesome crazy off road driver in the truck and a couple of grandpa's too scared to push their cars in the other two. But technically a truck should not beat a firebird in autocross.

believe me, anything is possible. the tundra driver is a Nationals-level driver. he usually drives a Raptor (single-seat go kart kind of thing. like a mini F1 car).

i wouldn't have believed it myself if i hadn't seen it. it helped that the course was open and very fast.

i think Ford Protege was a joke the Subie guys like to make. of course, they drive Chevy Imprezas, so... :)

and there are some scary-fast Hondas that show up...that guy in the totally stock accord was not serious.

so it looks like there are enough PA and SJ proteges to make a showing...you'll want to get some practice in before the real season (summer) starts Apr 26th. seriously, i'd love to see an MP3 show up. :)

nice driving. i keep track of my results in a spreadsheet, but yours is definitely more detailed than mine. :)

guys, if cjstringer makes it to camden and S.E.PA/SJ people don't, that's sad.

i've already heard rumors of protege drivers being "all show, no go"...

sorry, i'm not driving 5 hours just to go to an autocross out in Philly. I am already doin it here and don't need to buy 2 sets of tires this year.

15 March event was fun. the course was long and fast. rewards for those with the guts to keep their foot in it.

we had 105 drivers and the event ran flawlessly. people are starting to bring their stickies, so the competition is heating up! :)

also: still spots open for Philly Region Novice School on 28-29 March.

Registration Form

for $85, you get:

steak dinner on Friday night
classroom instruction on Friday night
personal instruction on Saturday (instructors in- and out-of-car)
