simple, yet retarded question(s)..........should i use a heat resistent paint when painting the front strut bar? do i need to primer it first? thanks..............okay, start yelling at me. go ahead

it is coated with rubber, I suggest coating it with a low enginetemp paint, like no more than 500 degree paint, only to keep it from fading really.

Sand the rubber coating on it down with some 400 grit or higher sand paper, just to score it. rinse it off, and you don't need to prime it anywhere unless you have a spot where you can see the metal under the rubber. From eitehr sanding too far down, or a scratch/chip. =)

I did mine. I lightly sanded it, primed it, then gave it 3 coats. I believe it looks alright and I used temclad rust paint. Has held up for a year now.

90210brandon, what color did you use? i got the laser blue mica and your color looks as though it would match nicely. Is temclad the brand? how long did you let each coat set before applying the next coat. thanks.
