Tried to do my oil change for myself today but couldn't get the damn drain plug off.....

I've been going to the dealer for the past changes(I hadn't any tools before ie. jacks, stands etc.)

I've been doing changes when I used to work as a mechanic 3 years ago and I've never come across something this hard...

Looking at the washer, it actually looks like the bolt is embeded into it... I've ran out of ideas any suggestions

Oh, and yes I did go counter clockwise....

Please Help!!!!!

Man, those bastards used air tools on the oil pan, probably didnt check the torque on the air wrench before they threw it on the oil pan drain bolt. Just get a good long torque bar, and use a box-end socket, not a hex. If that dont work --and depending on how much of an ass-kicker you are it may be your first choice-- go to the f*ing dealership and have them remove it for you and give you a new one. BTW, they carry boxes of those bolts in the shop, they can throw one on for you right there.

find something to use as a cheater bar.
ie put a pipe around the wrench for more leverage.

oh, and if the washer is messed up get a new one from the dealer, and a bolt if necesary.

Thanks for the quick responses:)

Yeah, I actually did try the pipe on my ratchet but it was so hard the ratchet was skipping.

I then tried a 1/2" drive flex handle but couldn't get a good turn on it cause I couldn't get the car high enough...

I guess its off to the dealers...I hope they won't charge for the oil and filter since I already bought the Mobil1 and K&N.

i had the same problem, my dad took my car to some oil change place. When i went to change my oil, it took like 20 minutes to get the bolt out, and it was cross treaded, moral of the story... change your own oil people, its not hard...
