We bought our 2008 5 from them as a certified used which is most cases is just an excuse to charge a little more because the extended warranty it provides is rarely used. No so with us...

The transmission started a hard shift from 3-4 which resulted in a tranny replacement. No real problems there except it took around 3 weeks (they gave us a loaner 2010 5).

Then last summer/fall we had a rear wheel bearing go bad and they tried to say it wasn't under warranty. I pulled up the coverage .pdf on my phone to show that it is covered until 7 years/100,000 thanks to the certified used warranty. After 10 minutes of 'checking', he finally agreed.

On Friday it overheated in 40F weather and since it was close to them I got it there and both the water pump/thermostat are covered still since we're at 85,000 miles now. Once again, the service rep tried to say it wasn't covered, that he ran the VIN, etc etc. I stood my ground and after some more 'checking', he agreed. I did have to pay the $100 coolant flush fee since they have to fill it up and have a policy of no 100% water fillups.

In the end, $100 is more than it would have cost, but not by much when you add the thermostat/antifreeze up, but they did it in less than 24 hours and I didn't have to spend my time on it.

Meanwhile, my 2000 Accord is at 210,000 miles and has never been in the shop since I've owned it starting at 94,000. Brakes, tires, oil is it, literally.

On your Honda, when did you replace the timing belt? I had mine changed a few months ago on my '99 Accord, 127,000 miles. The old timing belt turned out to be in great shape though the other belts were pretty beat up, plus I changed the thermostat and water pump at the same time. Other than maintenance and brakes / tires / exhaust (last fall), I haven't had any problems with my Accord.
