im in the navy too...
why not just use a eq. i dont know how many inputs you amp has but i know of some that have inputs for each channel soundstream makes a good5 channel amp and you could run a rca for each channel of the amp from the eq and then just adjust the eq for sound quality. mtx has a good eq at a good price.

you could alwasy get a seperate cross over with a sub - control knob, which can be ran all the way to the front of the car.
Phoenix Gold has this feature built right into their amps. Check em out.
