Hi all,
I took my 08 Mazda 5 in today to get the tires switched over. On the way my oil light was flicking on and off (every couple of minutes, a few times). I had thought I noticed this yesterday as well, but it never stayed on.
While I was there, I asked the garage to have a look for me. What they found shocked us: there was virtually no oil left. What very little was left, was black. They put in 4 jugs of oil to fill it up. But... they could not find any trace of leakage. Since the car is fairly new (11k kms, 8 months of driving), they could look around fairly easily, but still couldn't find any trace of leakage. I've certainly never noticed any in the garage, etc. One theory they had is it is "blowing" out the exhaust?
I called the dealer and I'm going in this week. They were also shocked at the story and wanted to see it right away.
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts, comments, suggestions or advice on what is up, or how things may play out with the dealer.
Thanks
