Anyone using the colder NGK plugs? I remember someone talking about them, but any update? Would they have any effect on a stock MSP?

I remember on my Dak R/T, that was one of the first mods we did,,

Thanks,

Britt

I`m currently using NGK copper plugs. Had them in for well over two weeks now, and w/ the desert heat out here in Vegas, the engine seems to run allot smoother than it used to.

Thanks for the replies, but I was asking if they would make an appreciable effect on a stock boost MSP. I am not planning on upping the boost anytime soon,

Britt

The only reason to get colder plugs is detonation. If you don't have a problem (or higher boost) then you won't see any advantage to colder plugs.

what gap do you have them at? i have mine gapped at .030 and i am running about 11psi spiking 15psi.

what do you spike to even out to 15psi?

I have the NGK copper plugs, and they seem fine...haven't noticed the drop in gas mileage, but I guess it's there..I wonder how much of hit it is on the gas mileage. And mine were gapped by the tech to the stock configurations. I haven't been able to up the boost yet because I think my dealer adjusted my wastegate or something, because w/ my mbc turned up, it will not boost over stock level...So hopefully when I can up the boost a bit, the spark plugs will prevent detonation. I was starting to detonate at 8-9 psi on 91 octane and the hotter platinum plugs...
