Alright, the following things have been done in no particular order.

1) Sound system
2) Lowering springs
3) Shifter bushings and short shifter
4) Tint
5) Intake
6) Gauge rings (in the mail)
7) Exhaust (soon to be in the mail)
8) H7's
9) Interior neons

I'm looking for suggestions as to what is next. I'm thinking of either DIYing myself a grill or purchasing one.

Caliper paint will be during the summer some time.

Any suggestions are welcomed. Be it performance, or appearance I'm all ears. Turbo is out of the question and anything else which will void the warrantee on the engine.

Thanks in advance!

I spent too much money on my stereo system for what I can afford, as well, insurance stops covering after a certain amount. I am at that limit and am going to stay at that limit until I get myself a good alarm.

I am under the understanding that cams void my warrantee.

i don't think that cams will void your warantee especially if you get the mazdaspeed cams. Because they are manufactured by mazda direct, and they are intended to be swapped. Also as long as you have them installed by a dealer i believe it won't either. I could be mistaken, maybe someone could confirm this one.

First of all it's Warranty. Second no onw part will void your warranty. Manuson-Moss act, it's federal law. Third if you get them put in who will know? You can't really tell just by looking.

Not quite. Only if they are designed for this particular market. I couldn't go get parts from a diesel Sport 20 from Europe and put on my car and it be covered under warranty.

I was under the impression that cams will void the entire engine.

As well, how much am I looking to spend on the MS cams?

I have done alot of research with Mazdaspeed parts and warranty and this is what I found:

1. Any parts that are bought over the counter from Mazda will not void warranty. This includes the following you can get from over the counter at Mazda: Ractive intake, Mazdaspeed exaust and ractive fireball exaust. There are probably more.

2. Mazdaspeed parts like intake cam, exaust cam, pistons etc. are not over the counter parts and will not be covered under warranty.

3. NO parts you put on your engine will void entire warranty. The warranty is ONLY void if the damage is caused by the parts you put on.

4. I found out that the only thing that will automatically void warranty is if you wap out your ECU. I was thinking about swapping my ECU with someone who has a turbo MP3. All the dealerships I contacted said this will automatically void engine warranty. I guess it is because its the management system.

Exactamundo!!:D

If you put on a turbo though, basically everything exept suspension, and electronics is/can be voided. Dealers will make up anything to avoid a warranty fix, hell if your windshield was faulty, and you had an aftermarket turbo, they would make up some bulls*** about how your reckless driving messed it up.

woohoo 100th post!

What are you driving first of all.

If you're not in an MP3:
-Strut Tower bar $150
-AWR Rear Sway Bar $150
-Sportier Struts $450

The strength of the Protege is the handling. Power is going to be expensive (turbo). It's less expensive to make the handling even better.

What's the install like for the cams? Can it be done DIY? How many hours for a professional install? Trying to calculate costs.

Cams can be done DIY. My dealer quoted me $150 for the install, but that was a good bit below what a cam replacement books for. Unless you got a hookup I'd say about $200-$250, maybe more.
