About any tire will be better than factory equipment, but I'm very pleased with the Toyo Tourevo LS tires that I put on a couple of weeks ago. They are much more quiet (as much as a 5 is going to be...) than the stock tires, and are what I would describe as more "compliant" - they don't feel like I have something rather like hockey pucks on the wheels. The dry and wet traction is vastly improved (no snow yet). The handling is still quite precise though the turn-in may be slightly less instantaneous - they are much less "nervous" on the highway. They are high end touring tires after all.
This is the brand sold in the Western US at the Les Schwab chain. They are essentially the same as the Toyo Versado LS. You can find less expensive (and really good) tires elsewhere, but in 20 years I've had nothing but excellent experiences with Les Schwab customer service (so many flats fixed for free), and the tires have always been great.
