greetings to the group, just drove my 2003.5 Titanium Speed home from the dealer and I gotta say I'm lovin' it already. So much in fact I can't get out of it, Damn the break in period!

Patience my young aprentice, the break in won't take long, it'll be over soon. Congrats though, great color!

sure is...titanium is pimp...anyways you might as well get a boost controller since most people are bumpng up the boost....also welcome aboard sir.....trade you?.....

Welcome to the club! Break-in period was a b**** for me, too. I broke it in the same way I used to break in my new motorcycles. Run it up to 5 or 6 thousand RPM in 3rd gear every 50 to 100 miles, and just let off the gas pedal, letting the engine brake the car while you coast back down to about 1000 RPM. The theory is, you don't have a dog after break-in, the engine isn't babied for 1000 miles, then all of a sudden subjected to redline shifts, and the coasting back down after the high RPM run-up helps oil the top end of the motor.

My bikes all stayed together and ran very fast, and so far my MSP seems to run very well, although I do have the Joe P FPR kit.

hmm, well i didnt baby until 1k. shifted at 2.5k until 600 miles, shifting 3k until 800, 4k until 1000, 5k until 1050, then some random 6k's until 1100. shrug, i dunno, i guess it works.

Ha- I gave the sales man a rev limiter burnout leaving the lot with about 12 miles on it :).. I am not a big believer in breaking in for long periods of time. It really isn't as big a deal as people think. A couple heat and RPM cycles and you re good to go..

LOL Joe,

Yeah, during the test drive with the salesman, I hit 100 MPH on a long clear stretch of IH-35 access road. The salesman was quiet until we stopped at the light, then he cleared his throat and said, "Uhh, you did that very well".

He he.

Hahah-that's great!!! Our salesman was pretty cool, but he was a typical automotive dummy that most (not all) salesmen are :(.. He first told us that the car has superior fit and finish because the entire body is stamped from one solid sheet of steel and then wrapped around the chassis :wtf:

mine is all Titanium baby! :)

Seriously though, welcome aboard. Isn't the titanium paint awesome! It's a different shade of grey/silver depending on the light hitting it, and when it's in motion, the color is so cool as it changes in thelight

yeah that's what made me want the orange originally. Friggin cool. Everyone thinks I'm nuts around here when I talk about my paint.
Their like" Ummmm, you never seen metallic paint before or something?"

Then I show them the car in the sunlight....and their jaws drop.

this ainn't no typical metallic paint. Very nice on these cars. I wonder what yellow is like in person.

the yellow isn't a normal yellow, like on the mp5's... the MSP yellow is more dull.. not really that bright... i don't really like it.. to me the 2003.5 best colors are titanium and blue mica... and orange definately best for 2003!!! i think that's what lures most of the ppl to my car in the first place is the color.. i've only had one person come to me and say they didn't like the color..
