New Member. looking to buy mp5. need thoughts.

looks clean. I'd get all over it looking for any rust spots at all. These cars don't "winter" well. Definitely drive it. I mean its not what I would pay. But these cars seem to hold their value to a certain extent. Listen for clunks when turning at lock. but for that money everything better work like factory and have little rust.

Definitely listen for clunks over bumps too. This would probably be the strut mounts being rusted out, although with only 86k I kinda doubt it.

Also watch for ANY clattering/rattling. These cars are famous for them, but finding them can be a huge pain. Could be anything from exhaust parts rusting out and rattling against the shifter to (hopefully not, due to a recall on this issue) screws for the VTIS/VCIS (can't remember which one) going through the engine. Good luck with it though!
