How much should I pay for a low mileage engine? Anyone order a used engine online? What was your experience? Seems like alot of websites have mixed reviews, I need to find a repitble company that will back there engine. Please help!

It's a used engine good luck with that. Even when it comes time for them to warranty an Ase certified mechanic has to do it and then they will scrutinize everything

I looked around for awhile 100k mile plus motors go for $600-800 under 100k miles $1200-1800. Which I gave up on quickly and got rid of the car

I don't know about warranty, but if you get an engine imported from Japan (JDM), you can get low mileage because they are required to change. I would not think any company would warranty the engine unless installed by a certified mechanic. If you are using a certified mechanic, find him first and see if he has a source. With all that said, here is a link to engine with 50K or less for under $1000 shipped.

To me a company that can’t offer a 30 day warranty is a rip off. What’s to say the motor is bad but you pay the same price of a working motor? Companies shouldn’t market a product they can’t stand behind. I understand they wouldn’t want to give an extended warranty on a used motor, because of abusive driving or lack of maintenance. I really like my protege5 and I hate to sell it but trying to find a decent motor with ought spending a ton of money is almost impossible.

I got lucky and traded mine for a runing single cam civic , that also came with 90% of a h22 swap. Unless it threw a rod like my mp3 did look into doing a rebuild

I'm not a fan of any 4 door Honda, I am enjoying $30 fill ups though protege took 40-45. 10 gallon tank ftw

any reason why you couldnt get an fsze and swap over the intake from the fsde? im looking at getting a p5 with a hole in the block, so swapping the intake onto the fsze would solve that problem. are there other issues that would need addressed?
