I was at the gas station last night, and a bunch of cars from Alhambra Mazda were getting filled up. One of them was a Black Mica Mazdaspeed. Anyhow, the porter was some young punk ass who started reving cuz I was with my budy who has an E46 M3, I guess he was trying to show off, ****** idiot. To make a long story short, the kid took off at open throtle, and all you could hear was the turbo with a loud screeching sound. It was like no oil was getting to it. I feel sorry to who ever bought that car.

im completely new to the turbo world, just coming from an rx-7 n/a, and ive had my msp for about a week and a half. today i installed a cone filter and got rid of my intake box. i can hear the dead turkey between shifts now as the the turbo dicharges, also you can hear it spool up louder now, but right around 4000 rpm it starts to make a higher pitched sound is this normal, or is this something definately wrong? i really dont know how the turbo should sound other than initial spool-up and discharge????? dunno if this is related to the earlier post or not, i hope not.

Yea it's normal. Has a sudden high pitched whine at 4,000rpms. This is probably what EXA4DRIVER heard. Apparently this noise is pretty noticable outside of the car, my friends can hear it if they're in a car next to me for example.

Man I hope that was normal. I've heard other MSP's on full boost and the turbo whine just gets louder, but it sounds normal. This thing sounded like it was gonna blow up.
