Just wondering if anyone else has done this. The intake is a CAI for a MS6. It looks like I'll have to cut it down to get it to fit to make it a short ram. I'm sure there will be other light modifications as well.
Why would you want to do that given the large number of proven quality intakes?
If it's from your old car, just sell it and use the proceeds to do it right. If SRI is where you are headed, you can get a good Mazdaspeed gen 2 specific one pretty cheap and know it will work right and will not screw up your MAF sensor readings.
