MP3 Kenwood Subwoofer, no bass

All,

My subwoofer does not appear to be making any bass.

I looked at it and the red light is on.

I unplugged the red/white wires, but it made no change in bass, it was all coming from the rear speakers. I plugged them back in and felt the air port, nothing...

Could it be a blown fuse? A setting on the Kenwood receiver?

Could be a setting on the kenwood reciever. The reciever can trun off just that preout that runs the subs. I believe it does if the deck looses power. SO if you unhooked the battery chances say it off. Also make sure you have your RCAs plugged into the subs inputs not out puts.
The fuse for the kenwood is under the hood on the 12 guage yellow wire.

if it is your headunit...while listening to your radio...press and hold the AM button until the pre-out turns back on...this is how you do it with the z818..im not sure about the 919

I know exactly what it is. If you will look at your head unit, there is something that says "NF" on the right side. It is on either the AM/FM button or the scan button. If you hold down that button, not just press it once, hold it down, it will turn on and off the sub. Try that.

How do you get rid of the rattle the subwoofer causes in the trunk? I've always thought it was so ghetto when people come bumping up, and all you can hear is their trunk, so I dread this happening to me...

All true. I just got it out of the shop on monday after someone used a crowbar to open my fuel door to pour sugar in the tank. I have no idea why someone is doing this. I just moved to Arlington in December of 2001, so I don't know anyone besides a few MP3 guys. If I ever find out who is doing it, I will break their legs with a bat.

Oh, as for the motor being jacked, I had a turbo on my car and the oil return line got knocked loose and all my oil spewed out. So now the motor is screwed up. I'm fixing it soon though. But it will be about a year before I can turbo it again.

The motor will cost me, but the vandalism is costing the insurance plus $50 from me every time it happens. So far it has had a bucket of white paint dumped on it, spraypainted twice, and the sugar thing this time. I have an idea of who it is but there is no way to prove it.

Dude move up here to NH, you can shoot people for that s*** and judges and cops look the other way. My buddies dad and his 3 brothers beat the s*** out of 2 guys for vandalizing and stealing there cars 3 times while the 2 cops just waited for them to be done.
