Movies you MUST see to be "American"

What movies do you think are a necessity before you can truly be "American". I realized that even though my wife has lived here longer than I've been alive, she still didnt see a ton of movies that I consider imperative to see.

For example:

1. The Burbs
2. Nat'l Lampoons Xmas, Euro, and reg Vacation

Any more - just copy and past my list and add yours... (I can't think of the other ones right now)

Oh god, I haven't seen The Burbs in years. Might have to rent that tomorrow night, granted it doesn't come on TBS or something.

Blazing Sadles
Bullitt
American History X
Easy Rider..

I can think of others right now...

1. The Burbs
2. Nat'l Lampoons Xmas, Euro, and reg Vacation
3. American Grafiti
4. Holywood nights

Office Space
Jurrasic Park
Star Wars (the originals)
Terminator 2
American Pie
Blues Brothers
Animal House
Revenge of the Nerds
Gone with the Wind
Wizard of Oz
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (old skool)

I'll think of some more eventually. I must not be very american, cause I don't like any of the "Vacation" movies.

I'd also like to mention that I don't mention all of these (namely the last three) because they're great movies, but because so much pop culture surrounds them and draws from them that you have to see them to get a lot of stuff that would be otherwise un-funny.
