A new one for the list: A Christmas Story

If you haven't at least seen part of this movie then you are living under a rock... I will sit down and watch this movie at least twice between Thanksgiving and New Years. No need to rent it of course, TBS usually has a 24hr marathon Christmas Day.

What is American?

Most movies are almost universal to the human condition. At least the the best ones are or they wouldn't have billion dollars sales worldwide. If you want something definitively American, something that helps describe our history and changes in society, I'd think you'd have to pick stuff like: The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, 12 Angry Men, good westerns, The Alamo, Butch Cassidy..., Grapes of Wrath, Gone with the Wind,. Or maybe not these but others. Or "dreams of success" type movies. Hard to say since half the people in the US are from somewhere else.[font=&quot][/font]
