Mobil 1 15W50 ... should I ?

It's time to change the motor oil.

I always used Mobil 1 supersyn 5W30 (cold winters) but tempted to go for the 15W50 this summer.

Will it void the warranty or have an adverse effect on the engine.

I think it will raise the compression since it is a thicker oil (beer).

Why so high? I run 10w30 and we have 100+ summers here.

In your owner's manual, there's a page showing a scale of temperatures that 5w30 and 10w30 cover. I'm too lazy to look it up now, but they didn't even list anything for 15w30. Try to find that page, I'm pretty sure it's in the maintenance or specs section.

15 weight might be to heavy for our cars. Just stick to either 5W or 10w...

I've been using 5W all year round. We don't get too hot up here in Canada. And I don't do any long distance racing (or much racing period) so I wouldn't need a heavy oil.

yes but on a turbo app where ur engine is really going to be working hard the thicker engine oil will be better for your engine in protecting it...esspeccially a protege due to there somwhat weak internals...am I right?
