2003 MazdaSpeed Protege
hi im having trouble with my 03 speed protege, if ne one can help me determine what i need to do with these 5 codes would be awesome ....
P0340- Camshaft sensor
P0134- Bank 1 sensor (no activity)
P0131- Low voltage bank 1 sensor
P140 - bank 1 sensor 2 (no activity)
p2006- bank1 intake manifold stuck/ closed control bank 1

i already figured out my crankshaft senor is bad it melted along with the a hole in the timing belt plastic cover.

first post? welcome to the forums! sorry it has to be under such crappy circumstances :(

might do yourself a favor, and download the protege service manual-
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123744856-3rd-Gen-Workshop-Manual-(P5-MSP-MP3-also)

as for your codes... the following are taken from the service manual:

DTC P0340 CMP sensor circuit malfunction
POSSIBLE CAUSE
CMP sensor malfunction
Connector or terminal malfunction
CMP sensor is dirty.
Short to ground between CMP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 85
Short to ground between CMP sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 86
Open circuit between CMP sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 85
Open circuit between CMP sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 86
CKP sensor pulse wheel malfunction

i would check the cam position sensor connector to make sure it has a good connection. if not, replace.

DTC P0134 HO2S (Front) circuit no activity detected
POSSIBLE CAUSE
HO2S (front) deterioration
HO2S (front) heater malfunction
Leakage from exhaust system
Open or short to ground circuit between HO2S (front) terminal A and PCM terminal 60
Insufficient compression
Engine malfunction

DTC P0131 HO2S (front) no inversion (low voltage stuck)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
HO2S (front) malfunction
HO2S (front) heater malfunction
Fuel injector malfunction
Pressure regulator malfunction
Fuel pump malfunction
Fuel delivery hose leakage
Fuel filter clogging
Fuel return hose leakage
Air suction or leakage
PCV valve malfunction
Purge solenoid valve malfunction
Purge solenoid hoses are hooked up incorrectly.
Ignition coil malfunction
Insufficient compression
Engine malfunction

the above two codes are probably related. replace the front o2 sensor

DTC P0140 HO2S (rear) circuit no activity detected
POSSIBLE CAUSE
HO2S (rear) deterioration
HO2S (rear) heater malfunction
Leakage from exhaust system
Open or short to ground circuit between HO2S (rear) terminal A and PCM terminal 35
Insufficient compression
Engine malfunction

replace rear o2 sensor

P2006 is not listed in the service manual, but it is related to the wastegate actuator.

ok thank you very much , whas all back together two days ago when i go to start it i would lag n then either nothing or jump real hard n not start either way . and the rear o2 sensor is cause my turbo doesnt seem to like my exhaust manifold n keeps snaping the studs tht are put in there. :/

what mods do you have going on? i would blame the front o2 sensor and a manifold leak on why its running like crap.

i have a cold air on it and thats it , but its the fact it doesnt start up at all :/

because the cam sensor and front o2 sensor are throwing codes, i wouldn't expect it to start either. cam sensor is tied to the ignition timing, and the front o2 sensor is linked to the fuel delivery. you will need to at least give those some attention before anything else.

so im getting a new timing belt cover , crankshaft pos. sensor o2 sensor n a cam sensor?
