yes there are holes behind the rear emblems (mazda and protege5 emblems). thin 3m tape is your best bet to reattaching other emblems. I had my front grille emblem painted back in 2003 and the autobody shop reattached it using thin 3m tape, and it hasnt move at all since.
IIRC, there are two holes behind every emblem. I blacked out all of mine. I just sanded them down and cleaned them really well with alcohol and spray painted them with 3 coats Rustoleum semi-gloss black and 3 coats of clear coat. They lasted the harsh Cleveland winter pretty well. But I removed them every spring and repaint them. 3M tape works wonders and is easily available at local auto parts stores. But I also used clear silicone on the pegs on the back of the emblem and around the hole to keep out rain water and to prevent rust.
lookin to switch the middle M to an Evil M on the back... and paint it black... is it easy to just cut and re attach, or buy a new one.. idk where i could even get one...
its really easy to do, and yes there are holes behind it sara5 i bought filler caps and had them painted and cleared to fill the holes in the back of my car,
I used a dremal tool to cut my evil m and used cheap 96 cent flat black spray paint, on mine but i had to clean it and prep it first and then sand it down and made sure it was pretty well scuffed up before paintin and when i painted mine it was a nice day so when i rattled it.it dryed really fast
