Mazda customer service rep

I called the Mazda 1800 # again just to b**** and moan about clunk/hesitation. First person didn't know an actual release date for the 2003.7's (blues and silvers). I then asked to be transfered to customer service for answers to the clunk/hesitation. The persons name was darren ext.1175 he said that they are aware of this problem and a fix is in the works it's going to be a flash. You guys probably already know this but how many other people have heard this from a source at Mazda. I've already put alot of money down for this car and just need to know how many people have been told a fix was in the works.

I was standing next to the mechanic at my dealer when he was on the phone to Brett at Mazda NA, when they discussed it and he did say they were looking into a flash. Then the mechanic told me that there was no prob. JACKASS!

They'll tell you anything to get you to sign the dotted line. ;)

Good luck and keep waiting.

Well, I've been to my dealer 2 times since I bought my car in February. I've brought up the hesitation and clunk both times. They replaced my bushings twice and looked into the hesitation. The Service Manager was told that Mazda is aware of the problem, but doesn't know what is causing it or how to fix it, but they are looking into it....they are in contact with Callaway to see if they know what might be causing it or how to fix it.

Since then, I've read that someone on this board ran into the Callaway MSP prototype (MP3 converted to turbo) at an auto-x and talked to them and they knew nothing of the problems.

I now have another appt. with my dealership for Friday for the Clunk & Hesitation, plus the small coolant leak many have had (easy fix)...but this time, the District Customer Service Manager will be in to look at my car. Lets see how far I can get this thing.

As usual, I'll let everyone know what I find out (if anything).

Hope you find this info useful.
Peace,
Jesse

Good luck Jesse! No matter how frustrating it gets just keep bitching at them!!! I would do the same but the nearest dealership is 100 miles away.

Good luck.

Well, it's no short jaunt for me either....Newport, RI is a 70 mile drive one way. Though there are certified Mazdaspeed dealerships closer, I like the service dept (actually the whole dealership) there. I just look at it as more time to drive my Mazdaspeed....cause no matter the problems, I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED!!!

I talked to Heather at Mazda yesterday...she told me that the technicians are in fact working on a flash upgrade for the ECU as we speak. As usual, no release date! But I was told to make sure that I am putting the correct fuel in my msp... whatever!

This is nothing new.

I'm not being conceeded by any means but I'm red flagged by Mazda Canada to get the first Flash Update in Canada. Is there is a Flash out, I'd know immediately.
