Mazda Begins Production of "Axela" (Mazda3)

IMO the Axela is a rare example of a car that looks better in production form rather than concept. Somehow it seems to have lost a bit of it's Matrix/school bus height. Overall it looks like what the Vibe could have looked like if Pontiac hadn't messed up the body in typical Pontiac plastic bodycladding way. It should look good on the road, but I'll stick to my limited run Protege5. The best looking sport wagon/hatchback on the road today!

One quick question though, I thought the whole Idea was to call it the Mazda 3 world wide, to unite the brand image. . . Whats up with the Axela name?

Thank god they changed the rear lights, the Protege's rear lights are its biggest weakness, stylistically speaking

sedan pics and standard pics

Anyone else think that the sedan pic looks like a slightly cooler corolla? Very very similar styling in my opinion.

Looks like an AUDI. Straight up! I love it. Front end isnt impressive though.

Other then getting a little to thin in the front and a few inches to high I like the sedan.

well that is only a photoshop of what the sedan will look like, that is not official. but based on the photoshop of the hatch that was included with it, I would say it would be similar.

i like the mazda 3 sedan better than the current sedan

i like the current p5 better than the new mazda 3 hatch

its a damn shame that the p5 is going to be retired. that design has so many more good years left in it. i love the interior and exterior of the p5 way better than mazda 3. im sad now i need some pussy
