Maybe this Toyota recall thing isn't so bad afterall....

I'm referring to a specific situation I had at the link below.

The mats are still a problem. I actually went back to the dealer literally a week before anything of these Toyota issues came up and the stamped response was "that's normal wear"... Mazda wasn't going to do anything about it.

I call up Mazda today and the response is "what color do you want".... and "would you prefer the all season mats? They may be more durable until we find a permanent solution."

I guess the floor mat flipping up on my brake pedal is getting a second look now.

I've seen a few people mention the same mat problem and/or clutch pedal sticking when cold and the power steering issue. Now is a great time to send notice about it. I'm thinking all manufacturers are keeping a keen eye on things since NHTSA is getting b**** slapped on this one also. I don't think anyone wants a recall. If it's broke, fix it.

I've had the gas pedal actually get stuck with the all season mats in my wife's 5. Luckily I was driving and I was able to toss it into neutral and then reach down and pull the pedal back up. This was about 2 yrs ago when it happened, haven't had it happen since. * knocks on wood *
