Maff's STS2 Build

Added a little bavarian flare to the Yata! Thanks to Bos (Orangelo) for the car cover. He was abt to throw it out, and remembered I was looking for one. It's for a Z3, but hey, it gets the job done (seeing as I've got a small leak @ one of the window seals that I need to rectify).

Time to sharpy "not really" on that car cover! If I lived closer, I'd swing by and do it myself!

they would be like...ooo BMW let me steal this...they will be very disapointed
I should put a sign that says "OWNED" on the dash just for that scenario lol

Something like this should suffice:

1st 'real' autocross for her today. Had some tire-rubbing issues, but nothing that can't be fixed in about 30 minutes. I ended up 2nd in class (got beat by a girl in a well prepped CRX by .024 seconds). I'm really pleased by how the car felt, and I'm starting to learn how to drive a light, tail happy, tossable RWD car, and it's SO much fun! Hopefully someone got some pictures. My last (and best) run felt so good. The car's really neutral w/ a hint of oversteer on throttle which is about how I like it. All in all, an awesome day spent dodging cones (thumb)

Rubbing problems...

Under breaking or high speed corners where the front suspension would fully compress, I was rubbing the front fender liners.

I definately had the car too low and am planning on raising it up about 1/2", but I'm not sure if that will completely cure my rubbing. I suspect that the next issue may be a bit more problematic. As you can see in this picture, the bump stop is pretty much getting wedged up into the shock mount and I don't have a whole lot left to actually stop anything

This pic is after I forcefully twisted the thing out of there.

Any ideas? Someone on another forum recommended putting a spacer in there, which could possibly work. I don't think raising it will fully cure the problem tho, as sharp bumps will still fully compress the suspension.

What's behind the fender liner?

I say:
-roll your fenders (to avoid the Turner Field brick bump smoke/tire eating frenzy)
-10mm wheel spacer (or whatever threading is left on your wheel studs.
-roll/hammer out w/e sheet metal is behind the fender liner(if any)

remove the fender liner??
Neither of these are legal. I may need to take some measurements and see if I need to / can run a spacer. My offset should be right tho, and it definately wouldn't help with hitting the bottom of the fender...

Yeah, cuz the ones I'm running aren't high enough? lol They're way higher than what 'most' ppl run (the normal GC kit for Miata is 375/250).

550/375

EDIT: since I had so much trouble w/ my order from the get go (originally didnt' ship my brake pads, got the wrong GC sleeves) I got the part numbers off of the springs yesterday and called GC to make sure that they are the right parts. Here are the stats they gave me just based on the P/Ns:

Front: 550# 6.5 x 2.5"
Rear: 375# 6 x 2.5"
