Maff's STS2 Build

That video is excellent, I had not seen it. I love their super mario brothers video though.

Anyways, the Miata looks sweet. I kind of want one of my own :( How much did she run you?

I say skip the spare relocation.
Ya, I see no reason to do it.

Mini-update. Got bored tonight and decided to do like the only thing I could get away with in the parking lot: put the new stock pedal covers on. In case anyone ever needs to do this, flip them inside out, so that you can put it on the pedal and just wrap it around the metal. The 1st one I tried the hard way (just trying to shove it in) and it was a pain in the ass.

Naa, since it will be a driver, I'd like to keep the spare in the car for just-in-case-y's.

EDIT: I also don't have the required equipment for that mod. Namely, a garage...

Question: With the exhaust dumping right there, what's the effect on the fuel line/filter that is right next to it? Granted it's on the opisite side of the driveshaft, but the gas tank is right above it too. I would think that the extra heat there wouldn't be good for performance.

If it was me, I'd consider making the pipe 1.5' longer and have it dump behind the diff. Since youre using a stock converter, the power 'lost' from a slightly longer pipe wouldn't exist because it's after the bottle neck.

Not a bad idea. It'll probably be easier to get to that way as well for adjustment. Thanks for the tip :)

whats the legality of just getting a turndown that you can bolt on right after the cat.

i know there is a sound limit at topeka and other locals but Would it be loader than a spec miata exahust (that can break some of the sound limits)

We have a rather strict sound policy in the ATL region. Therefore, a MUFFler is required.

omg you so funny....

Anyway, it would be legal, but for streetablity it would suck. See my earlier post the exhaust I want to put together. However, the supertrapp would allow me to basically run what you suggested at the sites without sound regulations (just pull all the plates out), while still letting me pass sound at the ones that have regs by having enough plates in to keep 'er quiet.

Well, she SHOULD pass emissions now. Korey took the old cat out (air tools ftw, had to snap 2 nuts off, and cut a 3rd), and it was COMPLETELY empty. Gutted. Ok, I take that back, I shook it out after we took it off and some crumbs fell out... Anyway, so got that done, did a top engine clean (basically seafoam), changed engine and diff oil, cleaned the throttle body (it was disgusting) and ran a bottle of injector cleaner through. I basically ran it empty tonight, then put a full tank of 93 in it (should burn a bit cleaner). I'll get it tested tomorrow and hopefully on Sat I can make a run down to the Tag office.

Already busted him on it, lol.

Timing advance will come as soon as my other P5 leaves the garage ;).
