1st look at the title. I hope I filled it out correctly. That is why it isnt in the Audio Forum.

Now to the fun part! Well I am a mechanic and never really got a grasp of audio. But I have been trying to get some real vocal's out of the rear 6*9's and have failed. I have these 700 watt CUSPID's sitting around and thought I'd through them in. All I know is they were really loud in my CRX. I will keep you updated.

The holes are for the low frequency to come through, since it is just an 8", they used a 4th order type bandpass style loading into the trunk to help out.

hmm interesting I never looked what is in the back then? besides the sub

Not a damn thing which is why your having trouble getting vocals back there.
(rofl)

Oh and since it wasn't really a specific audio question I think this was placed correctly. Not like every audio mod knows his s*** like I do :D

(lol)

YOu are so full of s***. Since the sub fires directly into the trunk that would make it a ported box if it did have rear cut outs as ports. :p

Of coarse a port is much more then a hole in a box.

The MSP doesn't have rear 6x9s. Nor wires for them.

Actually one member said that they put 6x9 in the back and they worked. I have no idea how because the wires back there are dead and at least on my car not hooked up to a power source. Not to mention I don't think theres that much room in there to put a speaker with the sub enclosure in place.

I kow several people have re routed the rear door speakers wires to go to the back deck. Basickly just found the ones going into the rear doors, cut them then hooke them to the ones to the rear deck. Others have added an amp just for the 6x9's

YOu are right, there is not alot of depth to put most 6x9's unless you remove the sub box.

Yeah...but he could wire them to the rear deck...I wouldn't bother..well...I'm not bothering, I mean! A good 2/4 channel amp and components up front will cure all that ails you MSP Chris. That rear soundstage is useless unless you're back there, but if it's running on the rear deck and it's louder than the fronts you'll probably throw everything off!

It really is more of an audio question then an MSP question (since it applies to all proteges) but we'll let it slide! :D Seriously...the MSP is still a protege, and the guys in the audio section are wicked experienced from 2nd gen to the p5. You're more likely to get an answer that's accurate from those of us hanging out in there (no offense meant to anyone else...we're just nerds like that!)

I took it to be more about relocating something in an MSP, just happened to be in a MSP.
He didn't seem to want to know the audio specific impacts of his choice.
I agree that putting 6x9s in the rear deck is a totaly useless endevor.

Thanks for the help guys just trying to figure out how to get some more sound out of this car. - Chris

Add an amp, not more speakers.Oh and if that was the purpose then this did belong in the audio section!

I also have a pair of nice Kenwood 6x9s laying around... can I put them in the front doors?
NOt without cutting and likely they will be too deep.

insidious try sticking them up your ass.

By the way what I meant was I wanted more sound out of my MSP by adding 6*9's. ******* get a life and think before you post, critizing people and s***. This is the bulls*** joe always talked about.

Calm down, slap-stick. :D 1st is right...if you want more sound the speakers in there can handle it (they actually *are* excelons). If you want better sound, then you'll need components. The 6x9s will not help on their own, and definitely not in that spot. And Joe met resistance like you've never seen before, man. We're just joshin' ya and trying to give you some advice.

I never even got to insult anyone and already people are pissed :wtf:

I missed my chance I guess :(
