that tiny core support really isn't going to do much either, and I did think about that but i'm just replacing that upper portion and not the whole supprt
Well my sister-in-law got me a wink mirror for Christmas....you either love them or hate them....I'm going to give it a try and see how I like it....i'm going to be fabbing my own mounting bracket so I can still keep the function of my visors.....Pics will follow....I will try to take pics of the fab procces that way if anyone "likes" the wink mirror they can see how
Update on the wink....it's installed with FULL function off my visors, I did take pics of the fabricating process and will post them up early this week....I am on my iPad now so don't have a way to post them right now
so I am lucky and my wifes family has a machine shop so I had aluminum at my disposal and machines to work with....I first took the visor off and made a templete of where the visor bolts to the roof panal, I added a 1 1/2 inch tab to the sides (shown in pics) I punched the center out (thats why it looks kinda rough) and then with the long pieces I punched two holes and use a air saw and cut from hole to hole and then added the mounting hole....the long pieces need to bend in a slight "S" shape to fit right....I don't have deminsions on the bends but I just eyeballed it since it is aluminum it bent super easy anyway.....I'm happy with the mirror, It shakes a bit on back roads but i'm thinking of making another couple brackets that will bolt to the inside part that holds the visor (the piece that clips the visor) and there are two places on back side of mirror that have bolt holes...when I do this I will add pics of that as well
I put the car on the lift at work yesterday and notice some oil....the cam seals are leaking I guess this gives me a reason to shim the lifters to quite down the chatter while I have the valve cover off and putting seals in....might be a project for me this weekend
