Joe P MBC XZ intallation problems???

I just ordered a Joe P MBC XZ, was wondering if you all have had any problems with the existing hoses, etc while installing the MBC.
 
Yes, the hose to the wastegate was very hard/brittle in my car and I've heard you can use a 1/8" to 3/8" adapter (and a short piece of 3/8" hose) with some success in this area. Other than that, it was a piece of cake.

Ditto! The hose I had was smaller and brittle. I had to use the adapters with some small zip ties.
I run 12 PSI now and it has been holding great for months.
 
Yeah...better get that 1/8" to 3/16" adapter, 3/16" hose ready or you might get stranded if the stock hose is 1/8" which won't fit directly onto the MBC which is 3/16". You can make the adapter with some parts at your local hardward store.
 
This is one issue that cannot be figured out- some MSP's have 3/16" line and it is a direct fit- others have 1/8" line and someone else mentioned his was molded plastic???? Almost like the cars were built with spare parts :).

I used all the stock hoses, but the WG hose is brittle and has small surface cracks on it. I'm leaving the stock hoses in so the dealer doesn't b**** at me because they are anal...

Would this effectively void the warranty since you have to break the clamp at the turbo inlet?
 
see right before that little one time clamp, there was a 3/16 ummm coupling connection, i just seperated it from there, its right before the one time clamp.

Yes, you are the first person besides myself that had a coupler there. I have the same thing. So even if I replace the hose it looks totally stock. But just what is stock? As it seems that a lot of the cars have different hoses on them.
I am glad because now I don't have to **** with that evil little tattle tale clamp.


Damn it I love my car...

I have been running 10psi, but decided to drop it down a couple psi until I get the FCD kit from Joe. But I( can't seem to get it below 10psi. I am using the stock waste gate hose, which was a real b**** to get on (didn't realize is was 1/8). I will try that adaptor thing, and if that doesn't work, I guess replace the whole hose. I am losing pressure somewhere :(
