Would an alignment be necessary after changing the struts on the Mazda5?

Yessir. Anytime you touch the suspension you will almost always need an alignment aftewards. Unless you don't have a problem with excessive treadwear and a constant tug on the steering wheel when you hit the throttle.

I'd say yes to the front, no to the rear.

I'd say yes to the front, no to the rear.

Given that these cars have a tendency for -ve camber in the rear, I would say do the full four (4) wheel alignment.

Huh. I would tend to disagree.

We just installed MS3 springs on our M5. The front alignment cannot be changed unless you mess with the steering rack. Don't change the end links - and the car should track straight.

And the rear, just make sure you adjusted the rear toe on the trailing A arms (two 17mm) and you should be fine.

Once I'm done messing around, I'll get it aligned - but after a spring install, it drives straight, tracks straight, and no pulling...

anytime i touch the suspension i get an alignment....but i also got lucky and caught a deal at firestone for lifetime alignment for like 150 bucks....too bad they didn't count me me keeping my car....good stuff

+1 to that. I didn't get alignment done, cuz there was no problem after replacing springs.
