Intake manifold gasket direction

Hi all,

I am rebuilding the intake manifold and I got new gaskets, including the "Dynamic Chamber Gasket," and the FSM is either misleading or I don't understand it.

This is the gasket that goes between the 2 halves of the intake manifold with the 8 holes.

The FSM says put the convex side facing the "Intake Manifold," Does it mean the top or bottom half of the IM?

Well, Judging by my pictures, the original positioning of the Dynamic chamber gasket was convex side facing down while the FSM says convex facing up.

Fingers crossed that FSM is correct because thats the way I put it.

For this - it 'should' not matter. If the faces of both matting surfaces is flat, the curve just helps with sealing. If the engine idles with no problem - you are good to go!
