I'm not this dumb

Normally, actually according to my wife I am. I have searched and searched and cannot find a reference for how to remove the map light lenses from an 06 with sunroof. I want to change the bulbs to LED and can't get the damn clear lenses off! I don't want to pry them too hard, or the wrong way and break them. Anyone have some guidance on how this is supposed to be done? TIA Ross

Do not try to remove the clear lens

Their are two tabs that are on opposite sides of the light
You will need a small flat head screw driver
You will need to insert the screw driver and press the tab in and pull down slighty then move on to the other side and repeat

The directions are in the owners manual

Thanks guys! I didn't get a manual with the car, and in truth i probably wouldn't have thought to look there. I was thinking the lamp assembly might have to come out, but didn't want to pry it loose before I consulted the interwebs. Rushes to order LED bulbs....:) :P

LOL. I also wouldn't think to look in the owners manual and was wondering where the clips are and wouldn't think they are on the sides; would have though more of a front - back clip on. I usually never read the OM but in this case for both the OP and myself: RTM.

I replaced my map lights with 5smt LED bulbs - had to remove part of the reflector as it blocks the some of the emitters. It was quite a bit brighter compared to the old bulbs.

That is exactly what i am hoping for. I have already replaced the center overhead lamp with a 10LED panel that is bright as the sun and the map lights are truly pathetic in comparison. Thanks again to all for the help.
