Idle Problems...anybody Else With Them???

Ok so thats what I need to know. If anybody else is having idle problems with their car. I just got a call from the dealership that I bought my car from and the one that has given me all of the problems. Well last time I heard anything from Mazda it was from Corporate telling me that they were sending a Special Mazda Tech out to fix my car or attempt to fix it and determine if my car can go back due to lemon law. So anyway my dealership service advisor calls me up and leaves a message on my voicemail saying that he got a call from the Mazda Tech Service Hotline that they had some parts on order for my car and that includes a new switch to fix my idle problem....:wtf: Uhh this is the same problem that they said they have not been able to recreate. And I seriously don't think that Mazda is going to come out with a special switch just for my car so my logic is that others have had this problem and Mazda created this switch as a fix. So if you are having , have had idle problems post them on here. At the end of the message it got confusing. He then said that he has ordered one of these parts for my car and that he will call me to schedule installation when the part comes in. The whole message just sounds fishy to me. Maybe I am just really really sckeptical of the service department now. On a side note this comes exactly one day after posting that I was having a similiar problem to the "problem at 5500 rpm" thread. That thread discusses the VICS switch and now all of a sudden my dealer calls me to replace a switch. They may have nothing to do wtih one another but all be damned if they are touching my car again. I already told Mazda Corporate that the only person touching my car is the Special Tech that they are sending out.

Well let me know what you guys think. Cause to be alarmed or just being paranoid. I am going to call the guy at coporate that I have been talking to and see what is going on. I mean it wouldn't be the first time that info from these boards has caused a reaction directly from mazda or from a dealership.

ok B to the iz UMP.

come on 22 views and nothing. Comments would be great too. Am I just being paranoid here or does it sound like to everyone else that the dealer is trying to get one last chance to fix their mistakes on my car before the Mazda Tech gets his hands on it???

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT GUYS!!!!

Since you asked...twice...

If this were my car, I'd give the dealer every chance he asked for. If they want to put a new switch in, let them. If it doesn't fix it, at least it's one less variable to contend with. Who knows, blind dumb luck might prevail!

I went down this path with an '86 Ford Aerostar (51 repairs in the first 15 months). Ford Motor Company and the dealer refused/couldn't fix the myrid problems this vehicle had in the 12 months of warranty period. No lemon law at the time and I ended up financing the negative equity to get rid of it for a 323. The more they do and fail, the more ammunition you have for forcing them to take the vehicle back.

Our "03 P5 has no idle problems. Jim

Jim as awlays thanks for your words of wisedom. It is always nice to actually get advice from people on here instead of starting a flamewar. anyway just ranting. Gonna wait for Mazda corporate to call me back. Left messages with 2 people and haven't heard back as of yet. I plan on calling the dealer back tomorrow and see what more he has to say because he basically contradicted himself in his message to me. Meaning is this a Mazda fix or is this a Dealer trying to cover their ass fix. The thing is with North Carolina Lemon Law is that if the Special Tech can't fix it on the 28th then I get a full refund for everything I paid. The thing about the dealership is that I have 3 receipts that say that they were not EVER able to DUPLICATE the problem, yet they have replaced the IAC valve and reset my computer 3 times and completely reprogrammed it once. But they still maintain that there wasn't anything wrong with my car other than the BASE IDLE being misadjusted. Well you get the picture of why I don't trust them. I'll post again tomorow . Night all!

Tell the dealer that its fine to put in the switch but you will be present and only the Tech from Mazda will be able to do the install. Be adament that you only will allow him to work on the car. Also give the people you called at Mazda another ring, get them to verify the part number, then give it to me so I can get my idle issue fixed.
