I think I'm saying goodbye...

If anyone is interested in some parts let me know. I have a few lying around still

You wouldn't happen to have an intercooler upgrade you'd be willing to part with, would you?

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the car. My MSP has been running great since I bought it new and it has almost 60k on it now. I can't even imagine how frustrated I would be if I were in your position.

What's the "337 Edition?"
Also, have you considered the R32? Sweet car!

Good luck!

I am getting the 337 on the cheap, it's like the 20th AE but no sunroof and I'm sure a few other differences. Unfortunately I don't have a sidemount. The R32 would be ******* AMAZING, but I don't have close to that kind of cash. The GTI will be a lower loan payment for me anyways (along with a 6sp w00t).

Yeah I cant believe what kind of resale those R32s are having.

Id def. take one for a DD while I break the MSP down. I love the cars.

but basically original sticker for a used vehicle? umm.... not so much (notcool)

Never get started into modding unless

-Your pockets are overflowing with cash + you have a reliable responsible shop doing all the work for you.

-You can get your hands dirty and figure it out yourself along with the help from the forums and/or friends.

Any shop isn't going to be able to just pick up and take off and figure out everything that has been done and fix it all.

I refuse to let anyone touch my sweet baby but me! I have 65k miles since turboing my P5 and have been at 12psi and have blown my tranny replaced for $509 from a junk yard pulled and put in the new one myself and tracked down a few vac/boost exhaust leaks but that's it!! Knocks on wood!

I love to try to figure it out myself and everything, but I found that I don't have the time anymore to do it. At least not this quarter. I just don't have the means to do it, no tools, can't work on my car at the place I live...list goes on.

This is the 337

My gf has a yellow 20th anniversary GTI. It has the Neuspeed P chip, Neuspeed CAI, Neuspeed springs and let me say, that thing handles like its on rails. It's also fairly quick and when the turbo spools it sounds sooo nice. But my msp is alot faster >.<

oh and a r32 with a decent turbo kit like HPA or EIP = drool. That will most likely be my next car. I think the quality of the newer VW's is extremely nice... well at least the 337 and the r32. The recaro seats in the 337 are pure sex.

Good luck with the new ride, I'm about to move on from my MSP as well. I need something more practical and I have my eyes on modifying my girlfriends Mazda 6s so onto the Infiniti FX35 for me!!!

LMAO - HPA is the way Id go too... they had the stage 2 (iirc) @ 11.7 like 2 months after the car was released. It was absoluted rediculous...

Man, this makes me want an R32 again :(

my sister has a Passat and buddy a 1.8T Jetta, both have had horrible times with the delership and getting broken things fixed, even simple things. My sister's has run out of her warranty and pays a lot to fix it, even the brake pads were made difficult to change on your own and i have worked on a lot of different car names. It comes down to what you want, and do it. Good luck with it, just be prepared to have a broken interior, i have never been in a VW that didn't have a broken glove box hinge or center console door. Jeriously though, good luck man.

By the way, I don't blame mazda, I blame the previous owner. This is exactly what I didn't want to get into. A flaming of my decision. I apologize for offending people with a VW...
Dont apologize for what you want to do. Good luck (drinks)

And then you remember the price.. which is friggin crazy. I want one so much :( It's a vdub I wouldn't be embarrassed to own lol

Yeah, I was just checking the R32 at my school today...it's just dope. I <3 them. I'm kinda of getting more into the Euro style though as well. I've always had a thing for Vdubs and I was going to get a 20th AE in Imola Yellow, but it fell through.

I think HPA makes a damn good TT kit for the r32 but its very pricey! the stage 1 kit from EIP would be more of what I would be looking for if I owned a r32 :)

i dislike the new 08 r32's very much. the style previous ( the first style i believe) was my fav. just such a distinct sound from the exhaust. overall, awesome car. interior and everything. just the way it was designed.
but the price kills me.lol they are holding value to well damnit!

Goodluck man, have you considered the Audi A3 2.0T? I'm heading in that direction but I don't plan on selling my msp though. I'll give the msp to my mom...and borrow it from time to time..lol! Funny sight...lol, my mom rumbling down the streets of Montreal, sitting in Sparco's.

On second thought, bad idea. It would kill me to get a call like "Jay, it's your mom...the car stopped working and there's oil leaking from everywhere. HELP!! I'm stuck on the side of the road!!".

I don't like the VW's but the new GTI's look great....and I love the sounds of just buying a chip....a freakin usb port memory stick type thing for just $600 and bingo an added 70hp.

Yeah, that's awesome about the chip for them. The thing about the A3 2.0T is that it's too expensive. I'm getting out of my $352.19 a month payments and getting into something cheaper. The Audi would be WAY more money...although I used to have an 87' Audi 4000S that was killer haha.

All this talk about getting rid of my car and going to a VW then I get new brakes on it yesterday and drove around a bit...kinda rediscovered why I bought this thing in the first place...
