No, it's not AGR this time!
Anyhow, picked it up Friday. Took the day off and everything so i could enjoy it....unfortunately, I never got it until 4pm anyways so i should have just worked.
But anyways, I had more time this time around to appreciate it. Last time I test drove it, it just came off the truck, wasn't clean, it was rainy/foggy out....just bla.
This time, weather is great. 35-40 Celsius the last few days. So, did I notice a studder/hesitation? Well, there's something there for sure, but since I can't really open it up yet, it's really hard to notice.
I have to take something I said back though. The Stereo, I said it was nowhere near as good as the MP3's. Well, it is. When I test drove the car a few weeks ago, I was more concerned with driving the car, then listening to a stereo. Besides, the damn thing wouldn't flip over right, and got caught 1/2 way around sometimes, and it made it hard to setup without loosing my patience. Anyways, I figured out a trick to get it to flip all the way open...most times. Good enough until the replacement gets in.
But, it sounds so much better now???? Weird. I set it up, the same way I set it up the last time(granted the last time like I said I did it really quick), but this time the stereo sounds really great. Not complaining, just strange. Maybe I missed something before? Maybe I though loud was on, and it wasn't ? I find this really weird as I am familar with Kenwood Head units ( worked in electronics store), and I was a DJ for 11 years, so I'm not a complete audio ediot when setting these things up at least.
I still have the MP3 (My driveway looks so damn cool right now
) and I've been driving both over the last few days, and I can honestly say the stereo's are damn close to equal in sound. The MP3's stereo does have a little cleaner highs, but you don't notice it unless your really trying to be nit picky. Same goes with the sub. The 10" in the mp3 hits a little lower, but not much. The MSP sub can go louder though before distorting....for sure.
The remote, at first glance, I though it looked kinda "old style". But, it is thinner, a LOT thinner, and lighter. Why does this matter? Well, I stick the remote in that little pocket under the stereo, and the MP3's remote, takes up a good chunk of that pocket. But, the MSP's remote still allows you to stick a few cd's in there quite nicely. And, when washing the car, the MSP's remote fits better in your pocket.
The MSP's stereo fast forwards, and rewinds a lot faster as well. Very cool. Goes up/dwn folders faster too. The Z828 seems to take forever now to FF to a song.
I like the red buttons as well, matches the car nicely.
The Z828 still scrolls faster though, and the spectrum Anal. in the z828 has no delay in it whereas the MSP one is jerky.
One thing that is noticeable better though, is the seperation of sounds in the speeds as things go from left speaker, to right. There's a term for this I just can't remember now. But, the tweeters really help add this nice clean mid range to it that makes little background noises much more noticeable....hard to explain.
I started to wax the car today as well. Damn, the titanium paint is gorgeous in the sun. The metallic is awesome, and no matter how many pics I took, I couldn't really get the same effect as in person. See Photo section for my pics. But I completely love this color now, no regrets whatsoever. The blue is still nice, but the titanium gives the car a much more expensive, richer quality to the car...at least that's what everyone is telling me, and I agree.
