There's probably plenty of oil threads here (there are on every vehicle forum) but I don't see one so here goes.
I believe that there's no reason to be pumping clay through my engine in the year 2010 given that diester oil is pretty reasonably priced. While I use Motul full-synth diester oil in my Triumph bike, I typically used Mobil 1 full synth in my Hyundai. I've always done my own oil changes, though if my 5 has a cartridge filter I'll probably start having them do it for me as long as I can provide my own oil.
I know from the dealer I've got dino juice shooting around in there, which isn't necessarily bad for the break-in time, but when I get the first change I'll go with full-synth. What do people use, how do you like it, and why? What does Mazda put in the car in the various regions? I'm betting everywhere but the US and Canada it gets synth oil at the dealers....
And how about that water-thin 5w20?
