Hello!

I suspect my HID auto leveling isn't working anymore. I noticed a couple of days ago when I started the car the headlights didn't move up and down at startup. The indicator light on the instrument panel goes out after a few seconds at startup and according to the instruction manual that is ok if the system works.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Thanks!

They don't auto level over here in the states, so I doubt anyone from here can help. Are you sure they auto level? That's awesome if they do!

Interesting. In sweden you must have auto leveling HID so you wont dazzle (is that the correct word?) other drivers. Thats the law. Anyway, the leveling appears to be ok. When I put some load on the back of the car the headlight leveled down. My bad! :-)

I think US (may be Canada/Mexico too) that doesn't require auto leveling. One of the requirements of a "factory" HID is the ability to accommodate light adjustment due to added weight bc intense light may blind drivers. This alone is a reason aftermarket HIDs are technically illegal. It just didn't say it had to be automated for us as in Europe so we are stuck with a work around (and probably hell lot cheaper) switch... Higher end cars here do auto adjust -Mazda is not high end. Just like low tire pressure indicator, we get a dummy (fun of guessing which tire) while better cars get actual individual tire readout OR a hint which tire it may be. This is how you know Mazda is not on par with the big boys in terms of luxury.
