2003 Mazda 6 s
Hey guys!

I just recently bought an '03 Mazda 6 (traded in my '03 Honda Civic LX). It's a REALLY nice ride...and it came with lots of cool features (12 disc CD player, 17" rims, spoiler, much more). I'm a foreigner when it comes to the Mazda line up. I know nothing about Mazdas so this is all new to me, but I would like to increase the HP on my Mazda 6 dramatically (hehe). Is it possible to upgrade my Mazda 6 with MazdaSpeed6 parts? In the end, I want to turbo charge it and replace every single part that I can to make it a faster ride. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm new to these forums, so take it easy on me...I'm a newbie. haha

Thanks!

well, the MS6 is AWD and the motor is different from either the 2.3 I4, and the 3.0 V6, even though the MS6 motor is based off the 2.3 I4, it is very diffrent (i think) correct me if i am wrong. I you want some of the apperance from the MS6 on the front, i think you would have to replace the fenders, hood, front bumper and grille. among others. I'm not 100% positive about this stuff. One question, which motor do you have? There is a hiboost turbo kit for the I4, but as far as the V6 i think you are mostly stuck with bolts, e.g. CAI exhaust, that type of stuff unless u do a full on custom turbo set up.

but welcome to the forums, and i am sure that when more 6 people wake up and get on they will give you plenty of information...

and yes you will have people telling you to use the "search" option...

but good luck and happy modding

Welcome to the forum. Don't forget to search first a lot of question have been asked. But don't be scared to ask questions. Grab a 'root' beer from the fridge and a slice of pizza and enjoy yourself.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome guys =D

My 6 is the 3.0 V6 model, so I guess upgrading to MS6 parts is out of the question. I'll be sure to search and browse the forums for some more info. Basically, I just want to increase the horse power and make it as fast as possible =D. I'd rather go with factory Mazda parts, but I wouldn't mind doing a custom upgrade if there are no other options.

Look into getting CPE's MAFci intake for the V6 and also their motormount. I would also recommend the Mazdaspeed Sport Shifter if you have a MTX, reduced throws by 40%

As far as springs, if you want a nice even drop, get the Mazdaspeed Springs for the hatch/wagon for a nice even drop. Anymore questions, please feel free to e mail or PM me.

I'm sorry but if you wanted a MS6, you should have saved your pennies and bought one. It is going to cost you way more in the long run to upgrade an 03 to the same performance level. Good luck with that. You can improve the performance a little with things like a CAI, exhaust, suspension, etc, but that will only take you so far.

Does anybody know if my stock 2006 MS6 springs and swar bars will fit on Sonic47's '03 Mazda 6??

I haven't looked under my car, but I'm guessing that there is some sort of difference to the struts between regular 6 and MS6 to accomodate the AWD (in the rear specifically).

Believe me, if I had the cash, I would have. I was actually screwed as a first-time buyer with an '03 Honda Civic that had BUSTED suspension. I traded it in for an '03 Mazda 6 3.0 v6...biiig difference =D

do the 03s have as much as the 06?

i love my car to death, and i get used to the lag, but when u drive something else, your reminded of the lag of the engine.

oh and ur first mod should be an intake. get some air into your engine
