If you need a refresh on when the District Customer Service Manager assessed my Hesitation issue, go here
My service manager called me up on Wednesday afternoon and asked me to bring my car in, because a Technical Engineering Specialist is coming up from NJ to do some tests on my car (turns out that the DCSM is doing some follow through and not dropping the ball).
Here is what the service invoice states:
TECH. SPECIALIST TO EXAMINE ENGINE PER DCSM
CUSTOMER STATES ENGINE HESITATES/STUMBLES WHEN ACCELERATING
AND THEN TAKES OFF AT 5000-5500 RPMS - MOST NOTICABLE IN
SECOND AND THIRD GEAR
..ROADTESTED VEHICLE AND MONITERED BOOST, AIRFLOW, AND
THROTTLE POSITION - ALL WITHIN NORMAL SPECS- COMPARED
READINGS TO IN-STOCK UNIT, READINGS AT 5000-5500 WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS- CUSTOMER ALSO COMPLAINING OF INTERMITTANT
HESITATION BETWEEN 2500-3500 RPMS. CONCERN CURRENTLY UNDER
INVESTIGATION. ADVISED CUSTOMER THAT MAZDA NORTH AMERICAN
OPERATIONS IS WORKING ON RESOLUTION.
The Tech Specialist I talked to claimed to be part of the development of the MSP (not sure exactly in what sense, but that is what he said). He feels that there will be a resolution, but does not know when (but does hope it be within the next year...soo, all you who were told that there will be a flash in the next couple of weeks to the next month - I wouldn't hold your breath). This is just a heads up kinda thing for anyone interested, but it looks like Mazda is doing something about it, but it is going to take time and patience.
On a side note, he said that my MSP was running better than the one currently sitting on their lot. He monitored the boost from the same spot I am tapping into with my gauge (see turbo timer install in signature)...he claimed that my gauge needed to be recalibrated or something, because his gauge only reads between 3 - 5 psi (using a Milton gauge - mechanical, nitrogen filled)...funny, cause everyone else with the same blitz tt/gauge are getting the same readings as me...oh well. We'll see where all this takes us.
