I would say either turbo timer or short shifter. I think thats what i would do. But a tint would make your car look even more badass!

i think it all matters on what you like....if youre gonna go with legal tint, which i dont know what it is for canada but the mainland its like 50%, thats a waste of money....the short shifter will feel a lot tighter and easier to shift, shorter throws ill allow you to pull away faster, heheheh, just my .02, but i love my short shifter, make sure you get the urethane bushings too though

you will feel an incredible difference with the short shifter and shift bushings - much better feel, second to none I'd say.

can i ask why you'd need a shift light?

Turbo Timer is a very important piece of a turbo system especially when your car is originally an NA setup. It should give you a longer turbo life as well as a safe way to cool down your turbo when you're done going fast and park....

SS is my second choice to help you with a more accurate and faster throw, which can in turn lower your chances of missing the gear and rev your engine into pieces... hehe, just my opinon... :D

BTW, I haven't been keeping up with your other thread how's your "buying your p5 from your lease" going? Hope all went well with that.

yeah...I got that all dealt with...I called on monday...and went in to get it all done on thurs..I am now an official Pro5-t owner

seeing as how you havn't already replaced that shifter...DO IT. then get the tint....then the turbo timer.

and whatever you do...do NOT get a shiftlight/tach...that is unless you are going for the fast and the furious look....for starters you do NOT have a drag car that requires a shiftlight...and any driver with their salt, that is driving on the street, that NEEDS a light to tell them when to shift....needs to sell their car and buy a bicycle.

(rofl)

But I thought the shift light will prevent over-revving.... I don't know how to read the rev meter, what's the red section means? Isn't the red means the car will be best running at that rpm??? :D

Anyway.... Congraulations on your "new" car. And whatever you finally decided to get, enjoy it to the max! I've just got a kartboy SS and it's very nice shifting indeed.

i want a kartboy combo... how much they goin for now anyway...

$115 I believe.... and be prepared, when they say you'll get it in 3 days you WILL get it in 3 days... :D

so I am still torn between the short shifter and the tint...people around here (my friends and stuff) say that I should go with tint..but I am kinda thinkin short shifter, either way I know I will be happy

Definitely go with a turbo timer first. You don't want to ruin your investment by not properly cooling down the turbo now do you :)

u see. the thing is...I always sit in my car and let it cool down until at least 700 degrees or less...and if I were to get a turbo timer, I would stil have to wait there...or pay about the cost of the turbo timer to have my alarm modded to work with it...in some sort of time delay before my alarm worx...so...

I think that going with the turbo timer then go with the shifter. I dont know s*** about making a car faster, but I know how to make a car look better. And definetly adding the shifter adds to the look of the interior. I have the Kartboy combo of shifter, bushing and knob and its incredible. The throw is perfect, and the knob is great quality. You put a lot of money into your turbo and the turbo timer is the best mod to keep your turbo longer.:D

Hey Brad, I have an Autostart system for my WRX. It's a complete package. Remote starter, alarm system and it as a turbo mode that keep the engine runing for 60 sec after leaving the car. It costed $250 (cnd) installed. Nice system.

I think the short shifter is a very good mod for the P5 who has a kind of very long throw shifter.

P5 Turbo still runing good? Did you find a good setup for the SDS?

yeah...I have it all tweaked and its pulling hard...still running a lil richer than I would like...but I am not willing to play around leaning it out...so I am fine...thanx again...where did u get the autostart system? and do u think 60 secs is enough time...I generally let the car cool down to about 700 on the egt...and that somtimes can take much longer than a minute

Here's a link for Autostart website it's in Montral.

For normal street use 60 sec is enough. For hard ride, it's better to wait a couple of minutes. I usualy try to slow down a little before arriving somewhere. So the 60 second is enough.

Did you tried a P5 with a short shifter or a MP3 or a MSP (already as short shifter in it), it make a good difference on the shifting. I installed one in my WRX! :D
