Help issues with MAF Relocation.

So this weekend I relocated my MAF Sensor to my IC Pipe after the BOV b4 the TB. Gas seems to be alot better, however, when I pull up to a light the idle will be perfect one minute and then another minute it will start jumping between 500 rpms and 1000 rpms......down to the point where it looks like it is going to stall out and then it catches and jumps up to 1000 rpms and falls again. I checked all the vacuum lines I touched but everything seems sealed good.

What could be causing this crazy idle? Its stupid annoying. Please HELP.

Try cleaning/switching out your egr valve. I had the same issue happen to me, and that was the cause.but my MAF sensor was not relocated at the time

EGR Valve as well as EGR pipe is 3 months old got new ones when I put on the PG Single cast intake manifold. I was thinking it may possibly be the samething so I will check the EGR Valve ans piping tomorrow. Thanks. (rockon)

But just incase anyone else possibly have an idea what may be going on here?

Check your exh mani bolts. I've read of a few cases were some members needed to tighten those. I need to do this myself. I'm having issues myself and its the last place I need to check.

checked the exhaust bolts. everything seems good no leaks there.

it should go TB then MAF then BOV that's why your probaly stalling

what I read that you put was

Before the TB and after the BOV so I assume you have it set up

TB then BOV then MAF?

sorry I should have better explained it. your looking at it as going from the TB down. I was describing it as if I was standing infront of the engine bay. on the IC pipe you see the BOV first then my MAF and then the TB.......same way you described but but in reverse order. Its hooked up properly......does anybody else have this issue of the rpm jumping between 500 rpm and 1000 rpm?

Make sure the MAF is facing the right direction. Double check all of the couplers, sounds like a leak. Use some throttle body cleaner to spray the couplers and vac line connections down while the car is idling (must be in vac). If the rpms rev higher when you spray a paticular area, you have found your leak. What is your vac reading at idle and when the idle dips? Also, did you reset the ecu after you relocated?

I never noticed it when I did my relocation, which ended up not working for my set-up, but I discovered later that my MAF had a crack on the inside of it from where the previous owner had over tightened the bolt holding the MAF to the airbox. i had to be looking indide the MAF housing to see it. Might want to pull it off just to check.

hmm i am going to be spraying the lines to see what happens. the MAF is facing the proper way. I took off the MAF and checked for cracks b4 but i didnt see any. I did reset the ECU as well..........A check engine light popped up when I was picking up my son....saying (Bank 1) Too Lean.........so now I am starting to think that I am getting too much air in which is causing it to jump so much after the car is warmed up and is idling.....what do you guys think?

Should look like so

See what im talking about TB > MAF > BOV It will stall otherwise

i'm going to say its a leak in your wastegate, check the diaphram, you can also search for vac leaks around the car by spraying carb cleaner around the engine, if the idle changes, you have a leak

no, because I have/had a leaky wastegate and I never stalled, check you BOV it might be to loose, if you say we have the same relocated setup I can tell you that when my BOV was to loose it would cause the car to stall. tightened it just a little and it was fine.

yeh after i do the carb cleaner I am gonna go on a drive and tighten as i drive and see if that would do anything for me. Thank you I never thought it could be that.

could have you BOV to loose and that could possible cause a stall as well. try to tighten up yur BOV a little.

so i tried it.....nah it still has the weird idle from time to time.......however, i dont really have that turkey noise as much anymore......I am leaning more and more because i am running lean which might cause it to jump like that. I got a hold of the 440cc wrx drop in injectors......maybe it will help run righer than it is now........what r ur thoughts on that?

What's comtrolling your fuel, just dropping in the injectors isn't going to increase your flow (I don't think) there really isn't any reason your injectors should be maxxed out especially at idle.
