Can anyone give me a quick runthrough on installing a Greddy Electronic boost guage on our cars? ie.what wires to tap into, hoses, etc I have searched alot and cant find anything. Sorry for the dumb question............ .:confused:

i tapped the vacuum hose in the intake manifold

hook the sender unit to the data head unit then..and then the boost gauge itself to the data head unit. for 12V (constant, ignition), i pulled that off the ignition harness on the left lside of the steering column. for the 12V light i tapped into the parking lights wire. Green (not sure really at the moment, but the correct color is in the car audio/electronics section) in giant harness, left side of underdash kickpanel. alternatively, you could wire it to the 12V dimmer output so it will dim with your stock gauges as well. i never use the dimmer, so like i said, i just hooked it up to the parking light 12v

what about that little brass peice with the sender unit
where does that go?

brass piece? i put the sender unit by the left strut tower bar. there is a bolt just sticking up there, im pretty sure its for cruise control in the regular sedan. i mounted it there. hose from the Tee to the sender unit, and then connected the wire harness thru the firrwall. there is a rubber grommet you can punch out if you look, it will be on the right side of the intake manifold IIRC.

you press the tiny brass piece into the vacume "T" it goes in the outlet that leads to the sender unit. its a pretty tight fit

vacume line
*********\__ *** to sending unit, brass piece goes here

vacume line

hope this helps

ohhh yeah i totally forgot about that thing! now i know what he is talking about. yeah it goes in the T

that makes sense
i cant find that rubber grommet through the firewall though
also which colors were the wire pairs
ie:
red >blank
orange>
White>
black>

SAorry about this im retarded when it comes to electrical stuff
also was there any drilling, and do you have to completely take off the dash?

Thanks

no you dont have to take off the dash. keep looking for that hole in the firewall, im sure its there. i have a pic but i cant remember the name of it right now.

i dont understand your question about the wire pairs either.

as for wires i mean red splices into______etc

also i think i found the hole. Does the rubber grommet have an actual hole inside it that leads through, if so than i found it.

its not actually a grommet, its more of just a rubber stopper type deal.

i dont remember what the colors are on the greddy data unit. i can take a look when i get home.

red--12V constant
orange--12V ignition
white--12V lighting
black--ground

for red and orange wires i tapped the wires off of my turbo timer to save the ignition harnes a little extra wear
greddy red -> harness red
greddy orange -> harness blue
greddy white -> i used the dimmer switch (middle wire can't remember color) but i think some people are tapping a fuse for it
ground -> just about anywhere

heres a link for the turbo timer install. It has a picture of the harness and arrows showing what each wire is. it can get a little confusing because some are the same color so take you time

oh yea another thing if you plan on using JoeP's FPR kit i wouldn't tap into this vacume line( pic ). you'll have to use a different one or you'll get inacurate boosr readings. there is one just under the orange plug , its about 6 inches long and is a b**** to get off the intake but it works fine, and will save you from having to do it twice if you get the JoeP FPR

Anyone have problems with the dimmer wire? We wired it up, and its backward from the regular lighting. The gauge would go dark when the other lights got bright. Anyone know why?

Thanks,
