2004 Mazda 6
hey guys im new to the forums was recommended by a friend of mine to chek this out so far ive found lots of things interesting.

well to get to the question ive just recently bought a 2004 mazda 6i 4 speed automatic with a 2.3 liter engine. now my question is how far can actually modify this to really get some power out of it, i know that im better off with a manual. but wanna know if i can really make this car any good.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

You have THE least powerful 6 model, I believe. I'd strongly recommend against modding it. You can put wheels/tires on that thing and maybe some other cosmetic stuff that you can later swap to your 3.0 5 speed. ;)

^ What he said.

Ive got a 6i with the 5 speed auto.. no way in hell would i mod it. You just have to realize and be content with being slow.

If you really want to do something to it id recommend suspension/ lighter wheel's. You will notice more of a difference with that then you would ever notice with intake/exhaust/headers.

Only way would be nitrous or custom turbo kit.. But on an automatic its iffy.. You can do the standard intake, exhaust, possible header and pick up a few HP and some cool sound.

I would stick to wheels suspension and sound system on that car

ok kool sounds fair enough guess ille just do the minor stuff then, maybe ille just get another car in the near future
