And this afternoon I get pulled over by a piglette. Get this, he said almost word for word, "Normally, at this speed I would let the guy keep on driving by, but a sporty car like this, is a must ticket in my mind. Little punks like you make the road unsafe."

Fu@k him, it was only 45 in 25. Anyways, its not shelling out the money that pisses me off, its the jack up in insurance.

F-ing pigs. You know there's way too many of them when they have nothing better to do than set speed traps. Meanwhile our cars are getting busted into/keyed/who knows what else. And your situation just exemplifies the "logic" they use when pulling somebody over -- can't count how many women I know that have gotten off scott free going 90 in a 55 and yet I go 70 1 time in a 55 and get ticketed.

Buddy of mine was going 80 in a 55 and the pig gave him a choice of a speeding ticket or a "ticket" to get his windshield crack repaired. Boy, tough choice there.:wtf:

Ok first ONLY 42 in a 25!
Were you both high?

I have found in my last 2 years of life police can sense a demeanor about people.
When I was 18 and was pulled over I never got off at all. NEVER I don't think I acted like a dick or screwed around but I must have. Or thought I could be slick, I wasn't that bright a few years back not to mention nervous as hell around cops.

Today is a different day. i have been pulled over 4 times recently and always let go.

Heres why:

I never lie or F around. If they ask me my speed and I knew it I tell them and appoligize and immediatly add I have no excuse.
I never go for my liscense and registration ahead of time. EVER
I always ask the officer if its ok to go into my glove box to get the registration and I move slowly. Never just go for it.

I was doing 80 off a sharp off ramp and weaved in between 2 cars merging and alater decleerated to 75. I didn't know it but a car behind me was a cop. He pulled me over a few miles later and asked me if I knew why? I said I didn't as I had only been going 70-75 for a while and only hit 80 becuase he was riding my ass while I was next to a big rig. He asked me if I knew my speed and I said I was going 70-75. Ofcoarse he mentioned the speed limit was 65 and I said yes sir, always use sir not officer, I was going with the flow of traffic. I was still confused at this point.
He said, "Well what about the manuver between to SUVs off the off ramp going 80 with no blinker. I s*** you not my response was, "OH! You saw that?"
I appologize and said I had no excuse for such a thing. He took my info came back and told me to go home! No ticket.

can the police take any kind of video/audio recording devices away if they see you using them to record them?

No its your possesion them taking it is illegal and no different then stealing. They couls only take something from yu that is illegal or put sthem in physical jepordy AKA a gun even if you are a registered carrier but you are being arrested.

what if they ask you to turn it off and you refuse?

Audio recordings are not admissable in court if the party is unaware that you are recording them. Police officers are not likely to give you permission to record them for court. Also, police are enabled with the right to use their discretion (or lack thereof) in who they give tickets to. Uncool that you got a ticket, but 45 in a 25? Was this a residential? Not to flame, I used to get pissed when I got a ticket that I thought was biased until my 60 year old dad got a 50 in a 25 one day, I just smiled. He also got a ticket one night downtown Portland for cruising, him and my mom were trying to find street parking for the opera. Quite funny.

tell them tehy get to have on as evidance in court so so do you.
It is a violation of your rights.
Any specific legality questions should be made to your local attuny generals office.

:wtf: spell check a little man... I can hardly understand that.. and yeah sorry to hear about the ticket... so far so good in my mazda..

It's not a violation of your rights. Audio recordings are not admissable in court except under certain (federal) circumstances like conspiracy to commit murder etc. It is a grey area. What evidence are you talking about? That you were speeding and he doesn't like orange cars (or whatever)? It is his right to ticket whoever he wants. The state enables him with this right however unfair it may seem. Descrimination is a difficult thing to prove. If you try to walk into a traffic court and say that the cop was descriminatory, you will likely piss off the judge and get no reduction in the fine at all. A better suggestion is to own up to your mistake, plea to the judge for an alternative punishment and hopefully your exemplary record will sway the judge to drop the ticket and let you go to a safety course or something. This has worked for me twice and my buddy once. Don't bother butting heads with the system, 90% chance you'll loose.

It's true:

Them taking away a personal possesnion such as a tape recorder that doesn't have the ability to harm them in any way while being puled over is definitly a violation of your rights.

Sorry, I was talking about something different... another situation that I was involved in. I agree with you, its best not to fight the system in instances like this.... but I was in a situation where the cop threatened to take away my friends 3,000$ video camera if we didnt stop recording.... but this happened a while ago.. I was just curious as to whether or not they could legally do that, being as we were not threatening in any way....

No they can't and you should probably be talking to the attorny general or a judge about it.
Atleast I can't think of a situation where they leagaly could.

Well, I had some rough luck the other day too! I was going on I95 here in Philly after seeing a movie, and I was cruising at like 70 in a 55mph speed zone, but sped up momentarily to pass some cars, and got off the next exit. Don't you know there was a cop RIGHT behind me? I was like WTF!? Pulled me over and said he tracked me doing 82 in a 55 zone. Anyway, he wrote me the ticket ($178!!!) and I went home. 3 days later, I went through a YELLOW light (well ORANGE), and a cop pulled me over. I asked if it's ok to go through yellow, and he was a smart ass and told me that he saw me go through red. After some conversation, he still wrote the ticket. Now WHY would I go through a light RIGHT AFTER getting pulled over a few days before?

Anyway, I'm fighting both! It's not worth the points and the money for cops to do that. What do you guys think?

am i the only one that thinks he was going 20 mph over the limit and deserves the ticket for doing what he did? he knew what he was doing and paid the price

Yeah Texas Oinkers will ticket you even if you serenade them and
Yell Zeek Hile with your arm held high palm facing down and fingers fully extended. I don't see what they dont enjoy Nazi humor but it would seem that Tejas Squealers aint hip on the Hitler jokes.
And of course you don't ask things like, "Say Officer Squeal-n-Peel
What do you call a Cop eating pork chops? A cannibal."
Ah there was the really attractive Lady cop with giant scrumalicious Jugs who was somewhat put out when I asked her if I could handcuff her nipples.
Ah the joys of highway travel.

im with jeyckel you new you were speeding and you knew the consequences and a 25 if it was a school zone you should loose your license in my opinion speed all you want on the hiway but go throgh my neiborhood flying like that and hopefully someone hits your car with a rock

I realized it was stupid to be speeding through residential, but, its so easy to throw the car in neutral and coast which is what I did. By the way, I thought if you pay the ticket you dont get points added to your license, however, if you go to court, and lose your battle, they automatically then add the points to your license. ..
