Hatch emblems

Does anyone know how to get these off without breaking them?

One of the best ways I have found of removing them is to use a heat gun to warm up the adhesive and then use fishing line to get the adhesive to break lose. Just put the line on one side and hold both ends and pull the line to the other end. It will leave some adhesive behind but you can get that off with your favorite adhesive remover.

there are pins in our hatch emblems so fishing line and heat wont work easily. When i removed mine to shave the hatch we just pushed them out from inside the hatch door. If you remove that plastic panel you will see the 2 tabs per emblem holding them.

When I took mine off for paint I used a blow dryer as a heat gun and then used fishing line(or dental floss) to peel them off. After they were off I used 3M adhesive remover to pull the adhesive off. You'll be left with holes if you debadge though

I was wanting to make an evil m out of my hatch emblem but wasnt sure how to get them off without breaking them. I was hoping they had the little nuts that screw on but they dont.

simplest way is the best way imo. i did this too, use a blow dryer and dental floss or fishing line to get them off, the pegs wont matter. i wouldnt recomend taking off the back panel just because tabs or clips break often and then it rattles like what happened to mine. and for the evil m i used a small hacksaw

yeah...already broke a few of those off.

i used a blow dryer to loosen the adhesive then i used a small flathead screwdriver and and slowly worked around the badges. i just didnt have fishing line. there will be pins on the badges so make sure you are careful

Getting them off isnt the problem. I want to black them out and put them back on the car. If i ever get around the shaving the hatch then i wont worry about breaking anything.

I used plasti dip to black them out and 3M double sided tape to re apply. no problems since

Yeah me, plasti dip, and tape dont get along.

Honestly just left mine on and used a razor blade to cut around the emblem after the plasti dip dried. Worked out nice!
